So my hotmail got up to 9999 emails a while back. I decided to make it a project, everytime I checked my email while bored at work I would sit and delete emails for a few minutes. The vast majority of it all is junk mail, old annoying listserve group emails from my college groups I CANNOT FUCKING unsubscribe too, or other unimportant stuff. The only thing I really use that email for is to read board or facebook replies to me since I dont want facebook or RP sites to show up on my internet report at work*L*
So anyway, it takes a looooong time to delete that many emails one by one. But it was kind of fascinating after a while. Once I got back into 2009 I started to see stuff Id forgotten all about.
I had a whole bunch of emails from Marina/Alera/Beth when she and I would email back and forth when bored at our offices. That made me sad, I miss her a ton, she was just the bestest.
Andall kinds of emails of LJ responses. Micheal and I apparently had all kinds of things to say to each other during the 2008 election, which was surprising as Ive never really thought of Micheal as someone I've ever talked to much (not that I have anything against him, just different crowds n such)
And of course much discourse with the lovely and talented Herzleid/Cerise, Matron Saint and Mascot of LJ. Hehe
And people I havent talked to in years now. It was interesting. These kinds of sites (And diaries before them) exist to be read again years later. That whole "the unexamined life is not worth living" deal I guess.
So....Hey LJ! For future historians, I didnt just suddenly die in 2009 or something. It was just the year this other thing called facebook gave me free video games, hehe |

Today I had my swearing in ceremony, so I am officially an american citizen!
Now I can show my certificate to the office manager and presumably get a raise since I am no longer cheap immegrant labour :-D
Also, during the cermony (which took place in a large auditorium, as there were 2000 some odd people being sworn in, and family and friends) the Judge took a moment to recongize 10 people in particular, as they had earned their citizenship through service in the armed forces. He said each of their names, what branch of the service they were in and their country of origin.
Two friends of mine from work went with me as they were curious of the legal side of how the cermony went down, We had the following convo
Judge: " John Smith (not real name obviously), Air force, from Canada" My buddy Jim to me: "Hey another canadian!" Me: "yeah but now we only have 3 soldiers left in canada!"
Poor sad lil canadian army....woo super kick ass american army! |

A love-struck Romeo sings the streets a serenade Laying everybody low with a love song that he made.
Finds a streetlight, steps out of the shade Says something like, "You and me babe, how about it?" |

1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 123. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions. 5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1). 6. Tag five people pretty much everyone.
(well no book near me at the moment has 123 pages, so lets go with page 12, heh)
"Mr. Brown is a wonder, Mr. Brown Makes Thunder!"
"He Makes Lightning (sploatt splatt splatt) and its very very hard to make a noise like that! Mr. Brown can whisper whisper, very soft very high....like the soft, soft whisper, of a butterfly Maybe YOU can, too, I think you ought to try!" |
